in love....

Meet Andy.

We met years ago,..... in a Tommy Bahama store. I was shopping, and he was in the window. And on the posters in the store. It was love at first sight.

I'm so in love. I know...it's a high school thing to admit it, but is there a more gorgeous man on the planet? I think not.
I follow all the seasons with Tommy Bahama, just because of Andy here.
Recently they phased Andy out, and moved on to another, younger male model....but he will never be THIS guy.

Please Lord, just a few hours with him??? PLEASE?

LOL

No place like home...

Back from Chicago ..but I could have been anywhere, it looked so generic!

One night, the Boss announced that we were going to take the subway to dinner, to a place OVER an hour away.

hmmmmm. Maybe not such a good idea, considering that Chicago is calling in the National Guard to help get the MURDER rate down to a manageable level?????

(someone care to define "manageable"?)

"So far this year, 113 people have been killed — matching the death toll of U.S. troops killed in Iraq and Afghanistan during the same period. "

Um, I'll take a pass on that subway ride Boss.

Why would anyone want to live there is beyond me. They say it's a great food town, but I had horrible meals the entire stay.

Anyway, the good news is - our European trip is still ON. Flying out on Sept. 11th....LOL...
but at least we are going!

I wanna be an English Girl...

Yesterday I got an email from British Airways about my upcoming flight. It got me to thinking about all things British.

I heard a rumour that there are strikes at Heathrow Airport, so perhaps I will get lucky and have a layover in London! LOL (please God!)

(It would be awful to miss a few days of meetings and instead be forced to sight see a bit in the land of Big Ben and Shakespeare...lol)

Fab Flea Market Finds...or..Things I can never resist

Okay, I am slightly obsessed with hand embroidered pillowcases. And when I say obsessed, I really mean it, b/c I could probably open a linen store by now!

But how you I resist something as cute as these? All handmade, by someone who put a lot of time and love into them. The little lambs are dancing across the whole length of the edge. Too precious!

Also found pretty books, some silver souvenier spoons...

A pretty Shabby Chic Metal frame....I found the old pic in another cheap frame, bought both, and switched...

and more...pix to follow.

getting lost in Tucson...

Sometimes when I get lost (yes, it happens, even with my Nav) I see the coolest stuff...like this ol' motel. The whole area was full of these things, but I was driving so I could only snap this pic.

My favorite name was The Dream House Motel. (it was not even remotely anyone's dream house, unless they are a crackhead...lol)

Fab Flea Market Finds...today I hit a jackpot....

If there is a brand that gets knocked off more than Luis Vuitton... I don't know who it would be. (..okay, maybe Chanel, but it's a toss up between them)

Fake Luis Vuitton stuff is EVERYWHERE. You just get immune to it...even when I see the real thing on some OC Housewife type, it STILL looks fake.

But today, I passed by a full sized suitcase at the swap.

It looked old. It felt real.

And it was just beat up enough that it states quite emphatically..

"This aint MY first trip abroad Pal"...

(as if a Luis Vuitton would use slang, please, they are FAR too well bred to consider it)

I asked how much...the Swap people said $300.

I passed it up....but it kept nudging me while I looked at everything else.

Later, at the end of the day, I went back and gave it one more look. I decided what the heck. It was a tough suitcase and has stood the test of time, so if it WAS a fake, it was a damn good one.

I offered cash...and grabbed it.

Well, a little research on the net and.... voila!

It IS real. And they are selling for around $700.

I paid $200.
